Preparing for the Economic Upturn - Are You Cutting Costs in All the Wrong Places?

presented by: Kevin Brimhall

Wednesday July 22, 2009

Companies have been busy cutting costs, from marketing and advertising to travel, meals, and entertainment, to training and people. But what impact are these cost cuts having on your ability to serve your customers? That result is often overlooked (at grave consequence). And often there are less obvious costs – little gremlins – that creep into your business, that are costing you a bundle, that aren’t addressed. What is the impact of those gremlins and how do you get rid of them?
In this session, you will learn about:

  • How to produce more with fewer resources
  • The Model of Success
  • If the job could talk…
  • The Waste Walk

In 2003, after an 18-year career with GE, Kevin Brimhall founded JFD Performance Solutions, a business coaching and consulting firm. The firm helps individuals to reach more of their potential, companies to achieve greater results, and teams to work better together. In addition, Kevin is very active with a variety of local service organizations.

Jane Bozarth returns with a fast, fun session on making magic with PowerPoint: We’ll look at ways of eliminating bullet-based content and replacing it with a meaningful treatment, making better use of art and animations, and incorporating solid instructional design principles to support development of good online training.

Dr. Jane Bozarth has been a training practitioner since 1989, She holds a B.A degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and M.Ed. and Ed.D. degrees in Training and Development from NC State University.
